Entering their second season of existence, the Stampede look to build upon a spectacular Inaugural season which saw them finish with a 39-8-2 overall record. The Stampede return a strong core of players and have added some talented recruits to the roster for this coming season. “We have been on the road a lot this past year recruiting players from all over the country. We want to make a big splash in the Junior Hockey world, keeping in mind our overall goal of moving our players on to the collegiate level. We strongly believe that with our incoming recruits and our returning core, we will have a great opportunity to move our players on to reach this goal” stated Associate Head Coach Muscatello.
Under the headship of GM/Coach Mike Beavis, the Stampede look to not only develop players on the ice, but off the ice as well. According to Coach Beavis, “We built this program not only to move players on to college hockey, but to develop our player’s inner character as young men entering adulthood. As potential student-athletes at the NCAA level, they will have to be well disciplined, hardworking, and respected young men off the ice, to have a chance at using their skill on the ice. Our players will be forced to mature far above their years, which will benefit them in their future endeavors.”
The Syracuse Stampede will begin the season August 26th with a weeklong training camp prior to starting a very competitive schedule. For more information on the Stampede, please visit www.syracusestampede.com .
